Yıldız Uydu is an interdisciplinary model satellite team gathered under the university club SPARK (Space and Art Kitchen) which aims to promote Yıldız Technical University and Turkey on an international basis with their prudential projects.
Yıldız Uydu, being one of those projects, consists of students from 11 different departments, making it easier for the team to proceed in different fields as they build their rover.
Model satellite is a type of activity where competitions are held in many parts of the world, with the idea of modeling the structures that form the basis of modern satellites and introducing them to students, and arousing curiosity. Unlike real satellites, it is a miniature satellite that is smaller in size (2-liter coke bottle) and weight (1 kg) and is lifted to a lower altitude by a research rocket.
